What is Ultimate Frisbee?

The Basics

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced sport involving a flying disc on a field similar in size to a football field. There are seven players per team on the field at once. The goal of the game is to score points by catching the disc in the endzone. The only catch is that players are not allowed to move while they have the disc.

The Spirit of the Game

Ultimate is unique in that even at the highest level of competition, there are no referees. Players call their own infractions, and work out disputes themselves. Ultimate players adhere to the Spirit of the Game, and avoid intentional fouling. Believe it or not, the system works.
